LVCCLD’s #GetCarded Challenge

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District wants you to #GetCarded as part of the year-round #GetCarded challenge. To “get carded” all you have to do is sign up for a free library card and discover all of the free resources the library has to offer. The LVCCLD has 25 branches in Southern Nevada spanning 8,000 square miles, and a collection of 3.2 million items. It’s the largest library district in the valley.
In this episode, Wendy chats with Kelvin Watson, Executive Director for LVCCLD. Kelvin gives us all the details about the #GetCarded challenge, and the myriad of resources available to those with a library card. Resources include music and movie streaming, hostpots, computer labs for all ages, music and production facilites, DJ classes, a podcasting studio, and much more. Kelvin also gives detail about the new VGK collectable team bookmarks and the Las Vegas lights library card. Finally, Kelvin informs listeners how they can #GetCarded and what the library’s role in the community is.
