Billy Allen Named 2025 James Partridge Outstanding African American Information Professional Award

• Billy Allen, Whitney Library branch manager for the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, has been named as a recipient of the 2025 James Partridge Outstanding African American Information Professional Award. Allen was recognized for exemplary dedication, leadership and commitment to empowering communities through information services, underscoring his significant contributions to the field of library and information science.

His dedication to early childhood literacy is well-known in the neighborhoods and schools surrounding the Whitney Library branch. He also hosts “Storytime Adventures with Mr. Billy” on YouTube and @3kingvisions on Instagram.

Allen was formally recognized at the INFO Awards Night on April 11 on the University of Maryland College Park Campus, jointly presented by the University of Maryland’s College of Information (INFO) and Citizens for Maryland Libraries (CML).

The James Partridge Outstanding African American Information Professional Award honors the legacy of James Partridge, a distinguished library professional and advocate.
